3/7/2019· Methyl ethyl ketone is also used in: Lubricants and greases, such as vehicle oil and brake fluid Anti-freeze Coatings, such as automotive paint Cooling liquids in your fridge Chemical intermediates Plastics Textiles
With ketone pollution forming an ever-growing problem, it is important to identify a ketone-degrading microorganism and establish its effect. Here, a methyl ethyl ketone (MEK)-degrading bacterium, Pseudomonas sp. KT-3, was isolated and its MEK degradation characteristics were examined in liquid cultures and a polyurethane-packed biofilter.
12/12/2017· Methyl ethyl ketone ( MEK) uses in preparing alysts, antioxidants, polyurethane, vinyl resin, acrylic resin, alkyd resin, phenolic resin, and magnetic tape. MEK has very wide appliion. As low boiling point solvents, methyl ethyl ketone is famous for excellent solubility and drying properties. It can form an azeotrope with many solvents.
30/3/2022· On March 30, 1998, EPA denied the petition based on the conclusion that Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs), such as MEK, contribute to the formation of tropospheric ozone which is known to cause significant adverse effects to human health and the environment.
6/3/2020· What will dissolve in methyl ethyl ketone? It is also referred to as Butanone or 2-Butanone, and while it is a particularly effective solvent itself, MEK is soluble in alcohol and water. It is a liquid ketone with no color, and a sharp odor similar to acetone. In fact, MEK and acetone share similar chemical compounds.
