PRODUCT PROFILE: Vinyl acetate: Polyvinyl acetate accounts for about 48% of vinyl acetate monomer (VAM) use, with appliions including water-based paints, adhesives, acrylic fibres, paper coatings or non-woven binders. Polyvinyl alcohol (PVOH), used in packaging film and glass laminates, accounts for about 35% of demand.
The characteristic properties of ethylene vinyl acetate copolymers include its high resistance against heat, stress fracture and aging. EVA is processed in numerous products - for example in shoe soles, foils, electric cables or hoses. Many sectors of industry therefore benefit greatly from this plastic and appreciate its outstanding properties.
