methyl ethyl ketone long term health effects in Algeria

A case of methyl ethyl ketone peroxide poisoning and a review of compliions and their management …

31/7/2015· Methyl Ethyl Ketone Peroxide (MEKP) is a highly toxic clear liquid used as a solvent. It is a strong oxidizing agent and a corrosive. Acute and chronic toxicity can occur as an occupational hazard. Ingestion is associated with corrosive burns leading to stricture formation, inhalational pneumonitis, acidosis, liver failure and renal failure.

Methyl ethyl ketone exposure in industrial workers. Uptake and kinetics

Exposure to methyl ethyl ketone (MEK) was studied in workers occupationally exposed in industrial workplaces. Alveolar concentrations of MEK were compared with environmental exposure and with blood MEK concentrations. Urinary excretion of MEK and its metabolite, acetylmethylcarbinol , were compared with environmental exposure.

Updated Health Effects Assessment For Methyl Ethyl Ketone

INHALATION PerbelUnl et al. (1984) reported a mean blood concentration of methyl ethyl ketone of 2630+2450 yg/1 (range: 842-9573 yg/l) 1n workers exposed to methyl ethyl ketone and several other compounds and that 70% of the Inhaled methyl ethyl ketone was retained 1n the alveolar space.
